Turvey Park's first season of football was in 1954 when it joined the Reserves competition of the Albury & District Football League (Farrar Football League). They won the Premiership easily against Culcairn 8.12.60 to 4.8.32.
The Bulldogs then joined the Central Riverina Football League in 1955 winning a premiership in it's first year after a drawn Grandfinal against Osborne. Scores were 8.12.60 a piece then the Bulldogs won easily in the replay 9.7.61 to 4.10.34.
The Bulldogs made the big move to major league status in 1956 with the South Western District Football League and made an immediate impact. They finished 8th with 6 wins and their Reserves outfit made the 1st Semi Final. They lost to Coolamon by 54 to 42.
In 1957 they made the Seniors 1st Semi losing to Ariah Park-Mirrool 1020.80 to 10.11.71. The Reserves made the Grandfinal after taking out the Minor Premiership. They lost to Narrandera 9.9.63 to 7.19.61.
1958 the Reserves won the Grandfinal against Leeton 9.6.60 to 4.14.38. The Seniors did mot make the finals.
1959 was Turvey's most successful so far having both grades in the Grandfinal. The Reserves beat Leeton again 102 to 93. The Seniors played Coolamon before a then record crowd of 12,500. They failed by 12 points to stop the Grasshoppers winning it's 1st flag in 37 years 13.11.89 to 11.11.77.
1960 saw a similar situation to 1959. This time Turvey again beat Leeton in the reserves after a 66 all draw. They won the replay in atrocious conditions at Ganmain the week later. 41-26.
The Seniors were destroyed by a far superior Narrandera 19.18.132 to 6.8.44 before another huge crowd of 11,500.
Finally in 1961 Turvey Park Bulldogs won their 1st SWDFL Premiership beating Leeton 17.23.125 to 12.13.85 before 10,000 people at Narrandera. These two teams would become arch rival over the next 30 years playing of in numerous Grandfinals.
From hereon the Bulldogs were a formidable force winning many more Flags in the SWDFL and even more in the Riverina Football League from 1982 onward.
