14,000 on 23 Sept, 1962 for Group 20 Rugby League Grand Final, Kangaroo's 14 d Tumbarumba 7 Gate $4,045 (£2,022/17/6) This was a record crowd for any Rugby League football match in Country NSW including Newcastle and Wollongong. The record was broken many years later when these cities joined the ARL The best Australian football crowd was 12,000 on 21 Sept, 1959 Gate $3,184 Coolamon 13.11.89 defeated Turvey Park 11.11.77. The best official Australian football crowd was 10,979 on 9 March, 2007 Sydney Swans 19.9.123 defeated Collingwood 10.7.67. This crowd maybe bigger as AFL Members and some children under 6 years entered without count. The final crowd figure may have been closer to 12,500. |

Basically an Amphitheater built from a cycle track. The fence around the ground is between 2 and 4 metre above the playing surface, with the slope/gradiant of approx 10-15 metres creating a embankment for spectators to sit. 4 x 25 metre flood lights were installed December 2005.
